It hardley ever snows in Houston so I was considering the Continental ExtremeContact DW tires over the DWS for improved grip+handleing.
My car came with Contiprocontacts and I am not too impressed by them.

Do you guys think it's safe to run summer tires ( Conti DW) if it never snows where I live?
We rarely get ice on the road too and if there is ice, school is canceled for me.

I run Goodyear eagle F1's and Mickey Thompson E.T. streets all year round and I live in Houston.

If there is a chance of Ice this whole city shuts down. No reason at all to buy anything other than summer tires.

In Houston you really shouldn't have to worry about what kind of tire your getting as long as its safe to drive in rain. I was driving on drag radials in near freezing temperatures without much issue lol.

If there is even a possibility of freezing rain, everything in this city shuts down. Nobody goes outside, nobody moves, everyone cries and drinks hot chocolate until the next day when its 60 again.

Last year we had a "huge ice storm" and the Emergency Room didn't even open until 11am...

I think you'd be crazy to purchase snow/ice specific tires being in Houston, Texas. You'd be fine with practically any "all-season" tire, imo.

Of course!
My question was whether I could run just summer tires since it doesn't snow or if I should just buy all season tires again.
