So I have a set of HSD Monopro coilovers to be installed on the Z06. Trying to figure out if I should be grabbing aftermarket sway bars to be install at the same time. Probably GM T1 or LG G1 bars. Trying to figure out if its really worth the extra money to do so. Any input?

Are you tracking the car?

Always depends on your budget lol

But for dd'ing I wouldnt bother, Z06s handle good enough stock, let alone with coils

almost got some for my WRX but I decided not to cause I don't track / autocross..

no sway bars, you dont flex out as well with them

I'm no vette suspension guru but I remember reading something about T1 sways being stiff enough to actually hurt handling on a C5 Z unless you are on an R compound tire. If you search for it you might find the article I'm talking about. The guy was doing HPDE stuff and after a lot of testing he went back to the stock sways.

Edit: Read a little bit and they cause understeer unless you have fresh R compounds on. They are also 14lbs heavier than stock. I am unsure how your aftermarket coilovers would effect this.

I read a little into that previously, but I also will be running a square rim/tire setup which I would imagine would counter that. The car will also be properly aligned/corner balanced. My main thing is I don't want to install the coilovers, have it all setup, then end up wanting sway bars in the future and having to set it up all over again.

Well I have never heard anyone complain about the stock sways on a C5Z regardless of the spring/shock setup. If you plan on tracking the car then it probably wouldn't hurt. If you are going to leave the suspension set up soft enough for the street most of the time it may not be worth it. You really have to push one of those cars hard to find the limit of the stock setup, much less one with adjustable coilovers. I read some bad things about the end links on the T1 setup too. Many preferred aftermarket due to noise, binding, and weight.

Yeah, chances are I'm going to keep it stock at this point. If I can find a used setup I'll probably grab it but other than that I think I'll just leave it.

I feel the same way if I were in your position. It always comes down to cost/benefit. If you can get them cheap enough it wouldn't hurt to have them around. It's not like they are hard to install. You could easily throw them on and test it for a while, decide if you want to keep them or not, sell them if not.

I'm not worried about the install, I'm worried about having to get it aligned and setup twice lol. We'll see what I can find though. I'm still kicking myself for not picking up a set of Pfadt HR bars that came up local a bit ago.
