This really depends on how much you drive and how long you plan to keep it.

BMW have 4 year 50k miles warranty and maintenance. The only thing not covered is your tires (yes, rotors, pads, spark plugs, brake fluid, filters, all inclusive)

Also anything break you have warranty, also the good thing about having both warranty and maintenance is that, they wont be like Mercedes audi or lexus where they'll argue with you
if certain parts of warranty is considered wear and tear maintenance and not warranty, with bmw you just toss it at them.

Then again, if you going to keep for more than 4 years and 50k miles then it'll start breaking more and costing more than lexus and infiniti.

Exterior, it should be your decision, drive a car that you think looks nice, not what others think.

Interior: Mercedes is probably most noticeably nicest and the rest are all a mix depends on your preferences.

Gas mileage depends on the engine and trim you're getting on each.

Safety is not noticeable haha, until you get into an accident.... lol jk if you're talking about crash safety then all the new cars that you listed are good enough, you shouldn't choose one over another based on this.

If someone told you to get a 7-Series they'd be telling you to get a worse car then the five you listed. The current 7-Series is so out of date there's really no reason to buy one at all. Probably the worst full-size luxury on the market. Maybe a little hyperbole but it's not at the same level the other full-sized luxuries are.

It really depends on what model you pick. A low end C-Class or 3-Series has a pretty barebones interior comparable to high-end models of many entry level brand cars. Of those cars the Audi probably has the best interior at the low end (if you're cross-shopping those Japanese ones with the Big 3 ones, I would wager you're looking at the lower end models). At the high end, with the exception of the BMW they all offer excellent interiors. Audi and Mercedes tend to get the best reputation for interiors, but at the high end it's just up to personal taste.

Mileage is simple. The bigger the engine, the worse mileage they get. Of those, generally speaking the BMW will get the best the Infiniti will get the worst. Maintenance is expensive on all of them, with the exception of Lexus. Safety is irrelevant, they're all modern entry level luxury cars, they're all reliable.

For base models...
1. A4
2. 3-Series
3. IS
4. Q50
5. C-Class

For highest end models

1. 3-Series
2. C-Class
3. A4

4. IS

5. Q50

I wouldn't touch a Q50 or an entry level C-Class. They're all decent options at the higher end. My girl had an 09 IS250, I didn't like it very much. Low end Lexus' are very Toyota-e. High end ones are a little better.

Not true. They're all reliable if you take care of them. If we're going by the (flawed) research, Audi is very close to Lexus in terms of reliability.

I prefer the C Class

i think all are very similar cars in the sense of price, MPG and cost to own (the japanese ones might be a little lower)

I think its all personal preference.
