Why in the flying fook does Vw/Audi do shit half retarded? 1996 Audi A4 2.8V6.. Trans flush... Requires a retarded 17mm Allen socket bit to open the fill hole, which is at the button of the tranny pan. And no where here carries that big of a Allen bit. Then.. You gotta fill it via that 17mm hole. Takes a special Audi pump *** wants $150 and $15 for the socket.. .. My productive day just got shit on. I getta wait another week or more to do the flush..

/end rant.

Anyone run Into stupid shit like this on their cars?

Find an old 17mm bolt and weld it into an old socket. Cheap and easy.
Vw and audi aren't the only companys that require odd tools, but it is frustrating at times.

/e and use a trans style funnel (with a hose) and fill through the speedo sensor if you can get to it easier.

The G56 manual in my ram is a Mercedes unit and it uses a 14mm hex socket for the drain and fill plugs.

That's what I was wanting to do
But we don't have a welder here. its back at home, 1000 miles away.
I think its just very frustrating because I work 6days a week, 10-12 hr shifts, with 3 hours of total drive time and from work. Like today was the only day I had off this week. I just really wanted to get things done. I already got the tranny fluid. And the filter and pan gasket.

Grrrr. This is why I love my Toyota's. Lol.

Do you have a Sears near you? They might have it. They were the only place back home that had torx sockets for my head bolts. The autozone employees were so fucking clueless when I asked them lol
