Well I'll start with a story of my friend who has a 92 GTR. He obtained new rims for his car and decided to install them himself. Pretty simple, I was busy at work etc. and he did not ask me for help. I go to the shop to check on him to see what is taking him so long. He is putting all his weight on this breaker bar to put these lug nuts back onto this car. My immediate reaction was to face the other way, facepalm, and take a deep breath. So we spent all of 2 hours rethreading/filing/recreating what was left of his ate up studs. The shop on base was about to close so we decided to get the wheel back on and park it at our work while we wait for new studs/lug nuts and I will be there to teach him to, Hand thread 5 full turns before using an impact to do the rest and how to restud a hub. Always ask someone if there is any doubt in your mind of your capabilities to fix/replace something on your car guys. We break stuff to learn but it gets really pricey and learning from a good teacher can save you some $$$$.
OH RIGHT! PICTURES! Here is one:
