I'm torn between two options for winter tires.

Blizzak ws70

The xi3 seem to be a little more expensive but have more positive reviews and I've been leaning towards then.

Anyone have experiences with either or both?

I've never had a problem with blizzaks on my cars, fwd and rwd.

Most people don't. I've read that they wear quickly. I believe michelin comes with some sort of 40,000 mile warranty.

This is for my brz. I want to feel safe and not get stuck. Hopefully that won't comprise handling too much but I've never used winter tires in the 9 years I've been driving.

I use WS70's on my BRZ
They work great!

Just don't leave them on once it warms up and the wear shouldn't be an issue.

Aside from the WRX which came with a shitty set of winters I've always run blizzaks. They got my 350z through the winter and through a bunch of roads I really shouldn't have taken it.

You should be able to find nice used winter tires on CL for the price of good chains - plus they're hardly necessary unless you're climbing up mountain passes during a whiteout
