How can I get rid of the odor?
Put 15$ in a gas tank and did not spill much. Lucky it spilt on a rubber/ plastic mat so it did not leak through but I think a little spilt on the side which was fabric.

Gotta get rid of odor before dad finds out

Pull out the trunk mat and hose it down with dawn soap and a hose. Scrub it furiously like you haven't busted in a month. I suggest a heavy brush. Vacuum it with a shop vac and repeat once more.

Use an old load towel to dry the inside of the trunk and shop vac that also. Now you play the waiting game.

You won't be able to get rid of the odor though.... the gas has to evaporate completely before the odor seizes. It will take a few days so just explain to him what happened..... It doesn't hurt the car in the end.

I did wash it down right away with soap.
Sprayed a air freshener in it and the odor is somewhat gone, we'll see tomorrow tho.

It might linger a little bit but ultimately it just has to evaporate
