I received a notice about the same issues with my Camaro. It's really nothing new and i won't be swapping my keys out for the new one. My dodge truck is easier to hit the key while driving than my camaro. This is classic big industry over reaction. They got busted and now they are reporting everything to save face. The company i work for does the same thing.

this. I know tons of people who have owned/own GM vehicles... I've never personally heard of them ever having issues with the ignition

ive had a 2000 and 2001 s10s, 1999 buick regal, 2005 trailblazer, 2008 equinox sport and none have every had key problems. i dont know anyone personally that has had any problems with theirs.

I moved my seat until my knee would hit it at the correct angle... it was impossible to drive sitting like that. My truck all i have to do is lift my leg straight up and it hits. There is nothing wrong with the camaro ignition. They are replacing the key with one that is not offset like the flip out keys are.

i wish they would replace my buicks ignition with one that the key doesnt have that stupid chip in.

Both of my fbodies have the VATS key too. You can google how to bypass it. It is as simple as soldering a resistor in. I've never had any issues with mine though.
