So I got quoted $250 to install all new medium grade speakers and my own amp + sub ( with my wiring kit)

Civic coupe if that matters

Is this a reasonable deal?

look at best buy installation prices to get an idea of standard installation prices. keep in mind they have people who actually take the time to get certified in the field compared to small shops which usually have less training for their installers than telemarketers get.

do i find this price reasonable? nope. $100 is all i'd charge for 4 speakers+sub/amp setup because it's maybe 2 hours of work and $125 an hour for unskilled labor is absurd don't you think?

is the 250 the price just for install? or the speakers included?

Civics speakers are veryyyyy simple to install, learn to do it yourself I vote for. Sub is very easy, speakers hardest part is the door panel. Running a power wire is easy also in a civic with how crappy the interior is and pulls apart. PM me if you end up doing it yourself and want the easiest way to run power wire.

welcome to the world of being ripped off. in 4.5 is absurd for a basic install like this

head units=20-30 minutes depending on stuff like steering wheels controls/bluetooth mic

speakers=10 per if im being careful/unfamiliar with the car

subwoofer wiring=30 or so depending on the car

amp/sub themselves=5 minutes with another 5-10 of tuning time

done this many times and i can pretty much say these numbers are pretty accurate for a basic install if the installer has even a few installs worth of experience.

it's also pretty sad they charged 4.5 hours and didnt even setup the head unit for you. i've always asked for a few songs the customer listens to so it will be ready for them to use when they pick it up.

Well I also got all new speakers and the only thing already installed was the head unit

The guy originally told me it was going to be 2.5 hours but then he said he wasn't expecting to take off the side panels or whatever for the back speakers. Yeah I'm definitely going o go back and have them help me
