What could be causing slow acceleration at low mphs? me & a family member tried taking the exhaust lines off to see if the ca converters needed to be replaced. That's not the issue. we ran for a test drive with the o2 sensors disconnected, and had the same slow acceleration issue. A bmw shop recommended we try that before going in for diagnostics. I'm look at $100ing an hour for a diagnostics from A BMW shop. I was going to change the transmission filter but as we were about to we read the pan, and noticed a warning stating the vehicle has to be at a certain angle, and certain tmp. In other words has to go to the shop to change. Would a transmission flush possibly solve this issue? Are there any tests to see if the transmission is going bad?

Slow Acceleration at low rpm

Sounds totally normal. Stop throwing money at it?

Correct, low rpm but after 35-40 mph the engine accelerates completely normal.

If I lightly press ny gas pedal I slowly accelerate, if I smash it to the rug, I go much faster. I judge this accordingly to traffic and my current mood.

Sorry, I wasn't detailed enough, by slow acceleration I mean pushing hard on the gas pedal has low acceleration. At mid- high mph the acceleration picks up to normal, and has power as it's running normal. I found another place that specializes in engines?transmissions. They're going to test drive my vehicle for free and then tell me a price on the actual diagnostics before hand.
