i am currently 18 years old and i have my alberta learners licence.

currently i am looking into means of transportation that i can use but i cannot find anything online that is definite and will tell me all the information that i need.

as a learner it states that i can use (copied from the official site)

• a vehicle or vehicle-trailer combination
that the holder of a Class 5 driver’s
licence may operate
• a motorcycle (must be 16 years of
age or older when learning with
a supervisor who holds a Class 6 non
-GDL licence)
• a moped

yet when i search for the definition of a moped i cannot get a clear enough answer on the cc of moped i can use.

http://www.transportation.alberta.ca/Content/docType45/Production/MopedPowerBikes.pdf

the above website states that i can only use a 50cc engine yet i can go 70km/h which a 50cc engine would not allow for that speed.

i just need some help understanding what cc of a engine i can and cannot use because 50cc is not enough and also moped's are defined as up to over 125cc.

sorry if you do not understand me completely, just leave a comment and i will get back to you as soon as possible.

they told you exactly what they consider an eligible moped in the second link.

i honestly don't know what to tell you other than stop being 18 with a learners permit.

usually these rules apply to 15-16 year olds so ofc being an 18 year old these rules are going to be goofy for you.

50cc is the limit on engine size according to that so i'm gonna go with no.

guidelines are there to cover their ass not to be practical. a 50cc moped is ofc gay and slow as balls, but they are also aiming those guidelines at 14-16 year olds who need nothing more than a way to get to school without their parents driving them or taking the bus.
