So I bought a 1985 Merkur and the turn signals just stopped working and the hazard lights are also doing some strange things. I replaced the fuse for the turn signals with no luck and suggestion would be appreciated.

is there anyway to check to see if the relay is bad without just buying a new 1 and trying it?

explain

"strange things"

The hazards and blinkers are (usually) independent systems of one another. Each has its own relay.

So if you're seeing problems with BOTH, that leads me to believe it is potentially a voltage issue.

But at this point there is too little information to make an educated guess.

When i say strange i mean if the hazard light switch is pushed in a certain way it can turn the radiator fan on even if there is no key in the ignition. also, it may turn on the rear lights which ended up killing the battery I actually had to jum it a couple times before i realized this. When I bought the car it had a security system for the hood which i removed so im thinking when they installed that monster they may have fucked up some other electrical things or maybe i fucked up something when i took it out lol.

Sounds like a short or a bad ground. I hate electrical with a passion.
