Mazda protege 1999, 1.6 DOHC manual tranny 170 xxx kilos

Yeah so short story :

1- my mazda is kaput and needs to get crushed for steel.
2- engine still running fine but battery is gone.
3- I plugged another battery, and started the engine.
4- I removed battery ( alternator could charge too much or too low, so better save the good battery)
5- I let it warm up correcty at the good temp.
6- I floor it on neutral, 2-3 cutoff ensue than nothing more, the engine stop slowly and I have no more electricity (no battery in the car eh )

7- it won't start again, even if the starter is turning and turning the crank (aka no slip on flywheel).

8- I feel like the starter is turning the engine faster than normal, like if it has very less compression.

Btw: It was my daily before so I was not givin the car shit like a ricer or wtv

Did I blow rings or something ?
How does tw cutoff system work on this car ? Cutting the ignition ?

Enlight my knowledge !! :D

E/ small update: yeah the starter/crank is spinning like hell now, so I guess I miss compression somewhere :p

It was for scrap anyway ! :D

I don't understand what a cut off is? Rev limiter?

And your sure the crank is turning?? pull a spark plug and turn it over, feel for compression

are you sure it's not fuel related

betting it's a small problem and there's no reason you should be scrapping it. My cousin had a protege that lasted 400k+ km

It happened right after I hit the rev limiter 2-3 times lol.

This is not the reason I'm scrapping it lol.

It's complete garbage now and worth less than 300$ so this is the reason I floored it to hit the rev limiter for fun.

It's a 1999 protege full of rust, I switched 2 x alternator, 1 x battery, 1 x starter, brake booster is kaput (vacuum line + the booster itself). I MUST double clutch the 5th gear, there is huge rust hole at bottom of every panel, the radio is not reading cd's anymore, there is no a/c nor any electric anything.

It's time for this 15 y/o car to take a break.

sounds like you dont take care of your car especially with that low of miles. that car should look and run like a new one.

Maybe in the middle of the us, where there is no salty water or anything.

I recieved this car at around 108 000 kilos and rode it to 175 xxx kilos.

I live near the salty ocean ( @ maybe 50 feets ? ) and always ride the car with care.

I oiled it via the manufacturer 2 times and oiled it myself 2 times.

As you probably already know, this manufacturer had problem with rust and their paint in the past.

I already changed:

-4 brakes
-sparks
-alternator
-alternator (2 times yes)
-starter
-battery
-air filter @ every ~20k kilos
-oil + oil filter @ every 5k kilos
-rear driver side strut head (rust)

The link of the sway bar is destroyed on passenger side.

I feel like it's more than his time to go after 15 years :)
