'02 cbr 954 RR
18,500 km ( 11000ish miles )
paid $3700 bucks + $100 for delivery so $3800

So it's been a rough few months of searching for another 2wheel toy. My first choice was an sp2 Honda Rc51, but they're hard to come by in the condition that I am after. Last week I came upon this RR, having owned and loved a 929RR a while back the 954 would be my 2nd choice especially in this condition it was a no brainer. I will continue to keep an eye out for an sp2 but at the mean time this RR will fill the void and probably stay with me for quiet some time. Its been a little over a year since I've rode, my last bike was back in 2012 which was a zx9r ninja which I sold at the end of the 2012 season. Can't wait to go riding this weekend :D

Anyways here she is.

so last night i gave it a good wash, my question is for the guys that work on their own bikes. I want to service the chain today which includes cleaning and lube ( measuring "slack" )

shops around are closed for today as it is the long weekend otherwise I would just head over and ask but anyways what do you guys use for a cleaner & lube.

That's my personal favorite for the money. It doesn't sling off if you apply it right, it lasts a good amount of time, and it is fairly inexpensive. I'm not a fan of chain wax. Wax seems to collect more dirt and sand which rapes your chain.

If you want to spend a bit more money this is a great combo

Having a perfectly clean chain prior to lubing it makes a big difference. I only run O-ring chains myself. If you take care of a good O-ring chain they last forever. Certain lubes are not compatible and you don't want to use brake parts cleaner etc to clean one.
