The cable to the bar you hold down to keep the mower running and to release it to shut it off is locked up on mine. I put some 30 weight oil into it, should that unlock it in time or what?

Oil won't free it up. You need penetrating oil or cable lube.

These cables go ALL THE TIME.

It's a few dollar fix.

You could always just zip tie the throttle (not "safe" but it works) and bypass the cable completely.

pb blast imo. and a wire brush. then some wd 40

found out it wasn't the wire although it did need a good luberkent it was the spring on the bottom that locked up and I've replaced it and oiled cable and its working like a brand new lawn mower

pb is junk. we have some stuff at work says FXX on the can that blows pb away. also aerokroil is better too
