I need brakes for my 2012 Hyundai Elantra. I know nearly nothing about this car or brakes. I know there are rubbery brakes that squeal like a bitch, I know there are ceramic ones, and I know how to change brakes correctly.

I changed them once already but they're worn down and I hate these cheap squeaky brakes anyways.

Can someone link me to a pep-boys or autozone type of place for brakes for my 2012 elantra? (not the limited version, but I don't think it matters).

Also, can someone tell me how much it matters to have 1 type of brakes vs another and what the differences are?

5 fg per useful response, 50 fg to the person who links me to the lowest priced non-piece of shit brakes.

for just a little DD, you dont need "performance brakes"

just get replacement parts

you are not using the car in an application where it warrants having performance brakes on the car, why spend more $ for something you dont need/wont use?

the difference is the materials they are made out of (for the pads)

and for the rotors, the material they are made out of/diameter/if they are vented, slotted, drilled ect

you dont need any of that

are you trying to pick them up in person or order on line?

Just pads (I hope :) )

I'd order online if it's free shipping. If not, in person.

I found these on Amazon Prime --- ACDelco 17D1157CH Professional Durastop Ceramic Rear Disc Brake Pad Set $30.00
ACDelco 17D1397CH Professional Durastop Ceramic Front Disc Brake Pad Set $29.09

good deal?

Can anyone confirm that they'll fit my 2012 elantra?

well those are only the fronts if you're doing the whole car you also need a rear set.

if you put your vehicle info in right and it says they do then they should.

Awesome. These ceramic brakes are good though right? Not the shitty kind that squeal all the time?

the squealing is not from the quality of the pad, they put "scratch tabs" in to make noise when you need to replace them

you dont need ceramic, but they will do just fine

from what im seeing the rears are shoes, aka drum brakes, if you dont have experience doing drums, ask for help, or get some one else to do it

is the car a 1.8 or 2.0 (shouldnt mater, just makes it easier)

1.8

Here's both links for the front and rears:

Are these what I need?
