2006 Dodge Dakota , v8 magnum 4.7L , automatic.

bought at 148 KM , had for maybe a month now and my transmission temp light keeps coming on and off, anyone have this vehicle or can offer advice? Pros / Cons for you ?

aside from this happening luvin the truck so far, just bought a K&N 57 series intake i haven't installed yet.

breaks are going too gona need to change them.

First the obvious- check fluid levels, make sure not too much or not enough transmission fluid.

Second - How it sounds on the transmission line theirs an anti drainback valve. Its common to get dirty/clogged.
Hopefully it's not anything you need to drop the tranny pan to get at.

Not sure if the generaic readers at Autozone would give you any specific readout but a dealership diagnostic test may give you more specifics.

fluid+filter first of all, then put in a tranny cooler, not hard

One quick google search would welcome you to the world of Dodge and their shitty transmissions.

Flush the fluid and put the biggest transmission cooler that you can fit on it immediately.

When it pukes ask the trans shop to upgrade the clutches, bands, and valve body...

You are in the begining stages of failure. As stated above. do a full flush of the trans fluid, change the trans fluid regularly. If you are lucky the P.O. didn't bake the valve body and bands to a point of no return.

so i took it in today , mechanic said fluid was a bit low and topped it off, and to come back to see a specialist if it persists. but yea i did google AFTER i bought about there transmissions -__-. but anyways thanks for the help. So ill get a tranny flush and invest in a tranny cooler. can you guys tell me what trans fluid is the best to use ? , and how often should i be changing the fluid. thanks again

I'm heated up right now !!!!! it still came on. 15 grand and this is the shit i get? you serious ?! what do i do...do i bitch at my dealership and demand that if i need a tranny or something that they pay ?!?!
