Hey guys, I'll start off with a thank you for looking. I currently DD a 2004 GLX Passat station wagon, with the V6 30V engine, and it is NOT 4Motion.

I was driving through the town next to my house, out with my sister and girlfriend to get dinner. Engine began to produce white steam/smoke. That was a simple fix, oil change/new 0w-40 synthetic oil. That's all taken care of, however now, well here's a video to further explain the problem since I'm no mechanic yet.

The part seems to be shaking as it is moved by the belt. Also, one last thing to add is that the Power Steering seems to have fully failed. Could this be a result from the pulley?

bearing is out..if thats the power steering pump pulley then yes its why the power steering is gone.

The last time I went to the VW Dealership they had replace that belt, which was labeled the "serpentine belt"

yeah thats the belt but the issue here is that pulley bearing is ruined.

Would that be due to just usual stress? Or is there a certain situation where it would have to be under for it to break?
