Selling my truck because I'm going to be moving to Dallas soon for school so I need a cheap car that's better on gas then my truck, but I still want something decent looking.

http://lubbock.craigslist.org/cto/4497633873.html heres one I found only shows this pic so I'm currently asking for more pics but all I can see is a messed up headlight. How good are these mustangs with high mileage? I've seen a GT I also found for 3,500 I might go after.

Anyways what should I be looking at in these cars that normal problems in them.

I don't really understand why you would pick an older mustang to achieve better gas mileage.

spend 1500-2000 on a car, because you will put that and maybe more into it in the next few months of owning it...

I just didnt want to go over 3 or 4k, if I got the one for 1k I know I'd have to spend more into it. But the GT I was looking at is in great condition and its a 00' for $3500. My only problem is I can only find these with high miles so do these cars have any problems with high mileage?

On that budget you shouldn't be looking at mustangs, or anything like them.

Why? Mustangs and their parts are everywhere and dirt cheap.

For 1000 bucks you can buy a beater early 90s civic that gets 10-15+ mpg more than the mustang, and parts are 10 fold cheaper.

I had a 1990 honda civic 4 door I did a SI swap from a CRX into that got close to 30mpg even with the gearing the way it was.
