So, I've had my 1970 mustang for a while, since August to be exact. First turned it on, and it worked. Second time I turned it on, doesn't even make a static sound. It's the original radio, and I believe original speakers. When I turn the nob to the on direction, doesn't make static or any news what so ever.

Would places to check include wiring? Ground? Fuses?

Just looking for additional outside help from my knowledge, as I don't have a whole lot concerning electric systems lol

Edit: Fuck, this was my first post in like two months..

given its age there really is no telling.

you are going to have to check wiring, fuses, and the radio itself.

really hard to diagnose electrical stuff over the web like this. if it were me it would be time to invest money into some newer technology. when an electronic just up and dies like this it could be anything.

how are you going to bang 8 tracks if you put a new head unit in?

If it's the original stock radio personally I'd only spend about five minutes trouble shooting.

You'd probably be best off taking it out, buying a cheap aftermarket radio, couple 6x9 speakers, necessary wire and going all new.

Please, for the love of God, buy a decent radio and don't ruin your car.

I see too many nice cars with shitty head units at work, lol. Your mustang deserves better.

Get an aftermarket deck that looks vintage. Tons of companies make them.
