1. How much would it cost to coat the car with it
2. How long will that last before it starts to not work so good

hydrophobic material never lasts long due to it lacking moisture to prevent friction with dirt/leaves.

Really it depends where you live though, anywhere coastal and the saline humidity will eat it so fast. Then again, if you live in a coastal area that gets a lot of rain you don't need to worry about washing your car.
Highway rocks will take out chunks of the paint chips at once.

Why doesn't never wet just make a car wax you can re apply every so often...?

thinking cans are at $20 per set of prime and finish,
and it takes roughly 8-12 cans to spray a car, one coat.

it would cost you monthly $160-240 plus the time and effort to spray the car...

which is a lot more time and money than to just normally wash and wax it.
