Will be financing a truck next month (or possibly in June). About $30,000 is my top dollar.

Ive been looking into the Ram 1500 Tradesman/Express, however I'm very partial to Ford.
I need the 4x4, 4 doors, and the V8 for the toy pulling here and there.

Just looking for some input on either or, if any one has encountered them. Other makes really havent stood out to me, because they offer less truck for the same price range.

Personally I'd go with GM. But out of your choices, get the Ford. Always avoid a late model Dodge 4x4...

Duramax is bad simply because of using Aluminum heads on an iron block. Well known problem....

Ford F250 and I would consider the powerstroke if you're pulling anything heavy.

Ford all day long.
30k should get you into a 2011-2012 diesel crew cab.

I hope you are talking about a 7.3... and that is clearly not what he wants. Over the past decade the duramax trucks have had the fewest issues.
