So i'm not sure on what this forums overall opinion on plasti dip is but i plasti dipped my rims when i first got the car and they are holding up great.
I'm more interested in a gloss finish vs the matte finish i currently have as i think it will look better with my bright red paint.

Went to the store and bought some of their glossifier, i plastidipped a piece of metal, then used the glossifier on half so i could see the difference.
I started looking it up to see what peoples opinions were before doing my rims, and its kind of hit and miss. There aren't a ton of reviews on it, and the ones i can find some say it worked well, some say it makes
it very difficult to peel off.

Has anyone here used the product on rims? How did it turn out? Does it last?
I'm going to keep looking at other sites for info on this but figured it wouldnt hurt to post here asking

I'm not sure yet. I will be trying it out very soon though.

I like that you can get pearl and metallic additives for the glossifier now though.

As far as plasti dip, what's not to like about it? It's cheap, and it doesn't hurt anything. My whole car is currently plasi dipped, and it is holding up fine. I will be going with another color of plasti dip soon until I can get a real paint job on it.

well, some people say powdercoat your rims, plasti dipis a waste it peels etc. etc.
I followed the youtube video they had step by step and i can say i'm beyond happy with the result. I have zero complaints as its been on since september and it doesnt even need touched up yet.

Well, unless someone tells me absolutely don't do it, I may be doing mine tomorrow. If so i will post back with results/pictures so you can see what it looks like.

Would be appreciated!

Usually I wouldn't plasi dip an entire car. Unfortunately the previous owner decided to sand all of the paint off the car since it was in Texas and didn't rust. Well now it's in Kansas and needed something on the metal. He plasi dipped it all white around a year ago and it still looks fine. I just want a change of color so I'm going with dark gray/metallic with the glossifier. Should look good until I get the paint on it.

I like plasti dip. It's fun to play with.

I couldn't justify doing a car for any reason other than winter paint protection.

The cost to dip a whole car is 2-300 dollars, if I remember correctly.

That's what a DIY paint job costs. Provided you have access to compressed air, and a basic spray gun.

If I were doing wheels. And I didn't have powder coating capabilities, I wouldn't plasti dip them. I'd HYDROdip them.

That's pretty durable from what I've seen. It's truly an amazing process. Now available for the DIYer at home.

I was just looking into getting a setup very similar to the video. It's about 65k for a setup like that...

Damn...Yeah I'll just stick to my rubbermade bottom filled with water, and a couple windex bottles to spray the activator/initiator.

Actually gives me the idea to dip my whole car

Would need a large tank, and I'd have to figure out how to do the quarters, since that's the only part of my car that doesn't unbolt.

I've heard good things about the glossifier. A local has it on his TSX Wagon, it's held up through the North East winter's so I guess its holding up pretty good.
