Ive had friends that had, and have driven 3 of these trucks. A 99, 04, and 12 . The 12 was a big clunky pita with constand trips to the mechanic, the 04 was good and reliable but gutless overal( this one is still inuse as a w/t ), and the 99 had by far the most power but steady front end problems and problems with the rear diff.

Now ive been looking at this and trying to convince my old lady to go in on it with me, she got the idea in my head of geting a truck for summer camping/fishing etc. My car is obv useless. Im not replaicng any more tranny pans in it + its 4cyl so no pulling lol.

The body/price/kms/ everything about this truck is screaming at me. Whats some general public input on these trucks. Ill do some more google digging after work, but what you guys know bout them?

Most of them got exhaust manifold issues eh?? That was a $2k + problem with the '12 hell his tranny wouldnt shift, cats melted, sensors fucked, huge mess the truck had no idea wtf was going on with itsself. Ran like shit. And i see its across the board? Maybe

12 sounds like a lemon. The lq9/4l80e is a dead nuts reliable combo. The GMT800 4wd trucks will have wheel bearings go about every 80-130k miles depending on tires and usage. If it is lifted improperly it will be worse. We had an 02 with the 8.1L/Allison combo. It was a great truck with few issues in 150k miles. The 6.0 will be a bit of a turd if you plan to pull over 7-8k lbs. Expect 12-15mpg. About 7mpg towing. The price point on the truck will buy a lot of extra fuel though. You also dont have to worry about diesel engine maintenance.

So i bought a 03 pontiac grand am 3.4l for $250 as a compramise. And a project

Apparently needs a headgasket, but after looking it over and doing some reading this isnt a headgasket issue. Its the lower intake manifold gasket. Either way i get a weekend of beer, a project and make probably 2grand profit off this deal. So, the truck will come sooner if i can shut her up after this deal lol.

Made a grand profit off that pathfinder i had not even 6 months ago, now this haha im pretty excited

Nice hahah

The body mint, underneath the car is still shiny silver ffs... Front end good, solid all the way around.

Oil in coolant. And that is mainly caused by lowet intakte manifold gasket. Which is also cheap :D

Fully loaded, cept sun roof.
MIGHT need front tires. Backs are like 90%. Fronts are even wear, just never rotated

And it was word of mouth sale. He bought a truck from a good friend of mine, wnd wanted this car gone for scrap value.. His words. I got reciepts of his tow truck bills to and from a shop that confimed there was a gasket or 'headgasket ' issue. Was never driven hot. Just moved on. And i invest alittle time and win.
