So I went to change a rim on my 97 firebird, and one of the lug nuts is pretty stripped. I cannot get it off, any ideas on a easy way to help get it loose? Would hate to pay someone to tow it for a shop to take it off. Seems like their should be a way around this. Thanks.

Those sockets will save you a ridiculous amount of time, I use them as soon as anything even begins to get stripped.

Seem to work well enough for me, they won't work on something completely stripped though. Time to get a grinder out when that happens

Weld a nut into it or cut it off and pinch the stud out and out a new one in

Get a slightly bigger socket and pound it over the stripped nut. Use a shitty socket though because theres no getting it off once its on unless you're the hulk.

Gotta go a slightly smaller size...bigger would just spin... This does work though, I've had to do it once. Ended up breaking the first one, but the second one stayed and got it off without much issue.

1. smaller socket/spanner
2. weld the nut to some leverage
3. cut the nut off
4. cut the stud out and put a new one in

if one doesn't work try 2 then 3 and so on
