Suzuki Forenza ex
Year:2005
engine/transmission option:2.OL
are you mechanically inclined/have the right tools?: some
Issue(s):

So i was driving down the road, stopped with my GF to get a redbox. the second i stop tons of white smoke comes out from under my hood.
i hear some sizzling but my engine is not running on hot, so i pop the hood check where the smoke is coming from and it looks like where the spark plugs// oil plug is.

I do have a previous problem with my valve cover gaskets are bad so ive been saving up to replace them.

Would it be that one of the valve covers have finally 100% failed and is speweing oil into my spark plugs causing all the smoke?

also, when me and my gf get home she notices like oil lines on my passenger side tire

is oil dripping out from under my car also or whats going on?

I think you're definitely on the right track,

The valve cover gasket sure does sound suspect in this situation, given your past experience.

The trick to finding and diagnosing oil leaks is having a clean engine to look at.

That's where I'd start. Get some engine degreaser and clean the components of the oiling system: Oil pump, oil pan, Oil cooler, sandwich plate and lines (when applicable), oil filter, valve cover gasket.

Since the oil is apparently burning, or dripping onto the exhaust manifold, it leads me to believe that it is indeed your valve cover, because that's simply the highest point in the oiling system. I'd change this as soon as I could.

Time to get dirty dude

E/ only thing i could add is use google. See if this is a common issue. Lots of the time thats the case and youcan find and read up on all kinds of people that went through this and how they fixed/whats needed

A Haynes manual will tell you everything you need to know. It's a great investment.

Oil doesn't burn white, it burns blue. Suzuki Forenzas all have leaky valve cover gaskets, as does the Chevy Aveo which is basically the same car, it's doubtful that is the problem. To the left (if you are looking at the motor from the front) of the valve cover is the thermostat housing. It sits up almost against it. That is most likely where the leak is coming from. Pray hard that it is just the housing as these cars have a problem with the head itself leaking from the same spot.

If you decide to do the valve cover gasket at the same time, all you really need is a 10mm wrench/socket and i THINK a 4mm hex head to take the little cover off the spark plugs and wires. Some have the cover, some don't. Thermostat housing is same way, just 10mm bolts.
