I have a 2007 Ford 150 and I was getting some firewood today and as I closed the tailgate (not even that big of a load was in the back of my truck) a piece popped off the side and the tail gate came off the little hinge. I was able to get the tailgate back on the hinge (cylinder piece fit back into the square hole) and it works fine but this little stopper/clip came off. Not even sure what the part is or where it goes. It has a little "5" number on it when you look at it real close. Any idea where it goes or what it is?

Looks like a stopped piece. No? So its not metal on metal

it could be part of the bed lining that i have in my truck too, not sure. the piece is plastic though.

its been 3 days, you obviously dont need it, throw it away

They close threads that you bump in here also... just fyi.
If it came off the tailgate on one side, drop the whole thing and look at the other side to see whats missing.
