idk i think it looks worse then it really is. should i just plug/patch it? i drove on down the road and it seemed fine.

Busted belt, time for a new one. Don't mess with tires, they are cheap to replace compared to the damage caused when one lets go.

Had the same thing on my car.. I just drove it till it blew (wouldn't suggest that though)

Just buy a new tire before it does go out because you cannot fix it.
