@90k miles on her
This is difficult to explain, so any tl;dr's can skip it.
Its nearing 4kish miles since the last oil change, and I've already got all the stuff to do it, but I'm thinking that might be a factor here.
I let my mother (completely car retarded) borrow it for a few days while her pos Malibu was in the shop. She was talking to a friend at work who somehow convinced her to put 93 in it, and I've only ever fed it 87.
When I got it back I did the usual checklist: tires, brakes, fluids, and hoses. The radiator was half empty with zero signs of it leaking anywhere, and no history of leaking. The brake fluid was low enough for the little
nipple to pop out on the inside of the reservoir. And the oil smells like its half n half oil/gasoline.
Brakes...I get it...she rode the brakes the entire time she drove it. Pretty sure of that. And when I asked why she put 93 in it, she said it was taking a long time to warm up, and so-and-so told her it was speed that up.
But wtf is up with the oil reeking of gas that bad? I didn't think 93 would mess with anything really...but its a drastic change.
So I guess the question is: Could it have some way messed up the way the valves seat? Or maybe the oil rings? Is it even possible 93 could make it run hot enough to overheat? I mean, its still running normal..smooth..no ticks, no knocks, no lopes, nothing.
I checked all this stuff before she took it, and...idk... Its making my brain hurt trying to think of wtf is going on, or why whatever happened isn't still happening.
I even put a cardboard box under it and let it idle for 20 minutes. Not a single drip. Did the same thing while it cooled after a drive around town, nada. Is my car possessed?
