So I told you guys I was thinking about picking up a Miata just for a fun little beater, get me back and forth to work etc. So this is one I'm looking at because it's a buddy of mine who lives on base here. Be warned, it's not easy on the eyes. But wraps and fiber are cheap, body is my second trade. Clearly 4k is too much, what do you guys think this car is worth?

and for the most part 100-120k is high milage on one of these engines before its need a a rebuild.
imo get you a truck and drop any 4 banger turbo in it but then again im truck crazy so... to each his own lol

That car is worth around 3000-3500 in my opinion. Only because of the mileage. Otherwise it's a 2000 dollar car.

The body damage is a great bargaining chip going in. So is his necessity to sell.

I'd see if he'd take 2700 for it.

Other things to consider. With 90k, it probably still has the OEM clutch, so check that out. It may be on the end of its life cycle. Maybe another bargaining chip?

That's not really accurate. Driven right these engines see quiet a few miles. They're essentially an NA motor built for a turbo, other than the connecting rods.

Also I already have a Mighty Max, so I'm not in the market for a truck.



3k is what I'm thinking too. The lines on the pulls look clean enough that I can probably clean it up with some glass and make it work with a wrap. I think I can make it look pretty good for fairly cheap. The cars savings grace is that there's no rust. I intend to pay 3k for this car, but I'm going to start at 2500. If I can get it in that ballpark I don't think I'd be taking a loss. Another great thing is that we are in winter and getting pounded with snow, so nobody is in the market for a lowered Miata right now.

Depends on who you talk to. But I'd feel more comfortable around 5. You know how dealerships are though.
