Let me first say Ive googled this looking for an answer and I keep getting mixed answers.

Okay so my truck has two real good tread tires on the front and like half worn tires on the back (bought it that way)
I was gonna try and wear two of them down a lot more then replace all four and keep them rotated to wear evenly.

My question is being it's a truck thats driven mostly in 4x2 which would wear faster, the front or back?
As in should I leave the tires with more tread on the front or back?

Hope I made sense, thanks in advance. :)

Better tires always in back. Back tires are your main traction in any vehicle really, so you want best tread back there.

The back tire should be worn more in the middle of the tread if you kept track of the tire pressure. The shoulders of the tire should be in good condition. Rotate back to front and drive them like that unless the center tread is completely gone. Your front tires should be worn more on the edges and fine in the middle.

Contrary to popular belief you want your best tires on the rear of a RWD vehicle if you choose to replace 2. This will keep the rear end from sliding out from oversteer in the rain.

its that for any car, even fwd. AWD maybe..since all wheels spin sametime ofc (well some awd's are different)

In a FWD car it wouldn't be as big of a deal. A finite amount of grip is available to be used for steering, braking, and accelerating. In a RWD vehicle the rear tire handles all of the accelerating. In a FWD car the rear tire is only used for a small part of braking and little steering force is applied. I would still put them on the back but as I said it wouldn't be as important. I also can't think of a situation where a FWD car would wear the rear tires out faster than the front unless you are E-brake drifting or you ran through 2 sets of front tires with the same rears. Both would be stupid.

It's for any car. With the better tires in the front, the front will always hydroplane first, so you'll feel it in the steering wheel as soon as it happens and can begin to correct for it.
Whereas if the better tires were in the front, the rears could already by hydroplaning while the fronts aren't. By the time you feel the back end coming around or the fronts start to hydroplane as well, it's far too late for any correction to be done.

Also, under normal driving conditions, the fronts will ALWAYS wear faster because of slip angles and ackerman angles.

Were you never a teenager?

I ate through rear tires in my trucks, and ate front tires in my fwd cars

Front tires wore out with my trucks due to beeing a kid and not keeping up with alignment, and never oficaly needed rear tires replaced for either of my cars.
It would be a matter of months before it would show..
