I have an old caddilac fleetwood brougham. It has seen better days, but is still in one piece....for the most part.
Its pretty cold here (15 F), and I couldn't get it started without starter juice, but that only lasted for a bit, then it would stall out.

I'm planning to rebuild/clean up the carb today, and my question is:

Should I reuse the jets? This is an 88, and from the looks of it..this has never been done.
I'm worried that as much chipping away at the crap in them (like really..I have never seen it so bad in my life...musta had bad gas in it more than a couple times) I'm gonna have to do, it will make it run rough.
I know its simple. I know they're cheap... but I'm selling it soon, and I'd like to spend as little time as possible with it.

I don't have anything metal that'll fit through the holes. :/
You think the starter fluid will take the crap off it if I let it soak a while?

There is a soak u can buy that works pretty well.

If u don't know much film yourself taking apart. Will take longer but might save u.
Gonna need to buy gaskets tho.

The old school guys would boil the parts in water (and sometimes dish soap)

It smells, but it works wonders.

My favorite solvent for carbs is Chemtool

But mostly anything caustic will work. WD sometimes even.

I let them soak in starter fluid for about 5 hours, and used a toothpick to clean them out. Worked nice :)
Got it to start first try after putting it all back together. Didn't have to use starter juice at all, huge plus.
