I can get a pretty good deal on a pair of nt05r tires on c6 reps, but the idea of launching the car like that on replica rims kind of scares me lol. Should I actually be worried about this? The only thing I'd be doing with them is driving to the track and running them.

If it were me, I wouldn't worry TOO much. Do you think you'll be driving THAT hard at the track? Most have speed regulations too (caged/uncaged). I can't imagine a situation where you would break the wheel. Unless massive lateral stresses were applied. Or you straight crash (hopefully this doesn't happen)

So I feel replicas would be a good and inexpensive track wheel.

People break Reps all the time, but they were most likely doing something they shouldn't do, like "drifting" , and curbed em. And we see an internet meme and think it's the entire company

My concern with reps would be weight.

Corvette wheels reps are not Rotas. Look at all the Fbodies making ridiculous power on them. The C6 Z guys usually buy a set for track days and leave the street tires on their OE wheels.

I'd trust Rotas more than I'd trust reps without any brand name attached too them lol. Theres more than afew companies making them so theres no real quality standard. If they were c6 factory rims I'd trust them.

OE wheel reps have been on stupid street cars for years and years. I haven't seen a failure on LS1tech in the 7 years i've been on it. The C5 Z replicas on my silver car are on thousands of Fbodies.
