A good oil doesn't need an additive. Marvel actually reduces lubricity. Its more of a solvent. Lucas isn't much better. Good oil already has the right composition.

none
Just use a good oil with a high zinc content
This does not always mean an expensive oil either
Diesel oil is decent and is very cheap
These oils have a better additive pack for older engines
engines with flat tappet cams ect need very high zinc content in their oil. So you need to look the oil up for those

I use Rotella T for most of everything including my high compression 12,500 rpm quad that made 54whp
rotella is jaso-ma rated its pretty damn good shit but can be somewhat bad for catalytic converters
Some diesel oils can be too thick for modern engines so run the approximate weight of oil that is recommended

Very true. The ZDDP is diesel oil was slashed a few years back by the EPA though. Its higher than other oil but nothing like it used to be. That includes rotella. You can't beat it for cheap though. I can do a 3 gallon oil change in my truck for $36+filter. A 4qt change with good synthetic in our 1.4L Cruze is $40+filter. The Camaro is 8qts @$75+filter.

Ah yea I know the EPA screwed if over a few years ago.
Still is good stuff for the price
Seems like most zinc levels are 700-800 now for regular dino oil which is not that bad
some are still using moly as well
