This be my first post here so go... yeah~
Anyways the girlfriend bought a 95 eagle talon TSI about 6 months back, and I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on this car or if you have owned a 95-99 talon before I would love to here your opinions on this car.
Mostly asking cause it has been nothing but problems since we got it, I am assuming it has probably been wrecked before since the fender on the passenger side is mostly made of bondo lol.
Also about 8 weeks after buying this the boot on the rf axel crapped out, so we replaced both axels and ever since it has made this creaky noise like I have never heard before. Also a few days ago now the rf lower control arm broke!@?.. Like the ball joint literally ripped itself right out of the control arm @@
Anyone ever seen this happen on any car?
And if so wtf would cause this?...
Also like I said it appears to have been in a wreck before, idk how bad it was but I was wondering. Is there any way to tell if there is structural damage to the car without taking everything apart and measuring the crumple zones etc.. Anybody got any easy tricks to tell if a car has been wrecked and tried to cover the fact that it was up?

Sorry for all the text :(
I would upload a pic or 2 of it but it is currently along the side of the road about 2 blocks from my house where the damn thing exploded apart. Fucked one of the new axels too when the control arm broke.... :(

Sounds like a complete POS

To answer your question yes I have seen a balljoint break off completely on two different occasions. One was right in front of me this dude driving through the parking lot and it snapped and he just started driving with the control arm on his blazer ripping the asphalt up

Anyways the thing had to be showing signs it was ready to go... are you guys just clueless or wat?

Yeah I knew the joints weren't tip top shape, but didn't think it was possible to just break the way it did it ripped the ball right out of the control arm..
But idk it's not like I was gonna just go buy brand new control arms just cause it was making a creaky noise, figured it was cause when I redid the axels maybe I tighten'd the bolts a bit much and it was creaking cause it was like working its self in kinda deal.

Also when this happened we were half way going over a big ass speed bump and soon as we got like half way across bang crash crunch lol

Was hoping anyone could tell me a easy way to find structural damage if there is one lol ie. crumple zone damage or whatever

It was most likely making some nasty poping and scraping noises before it went but at least you know now its a good idea to check that stuff out once in awhile especially when everything else is falling apart.

Just imagine if it broke on the freeway at 70+mph...

Any cars that anyone thinks are sporty and are older than 2000 I general wouldn't even look at unless it was completely intact because people like to drift them and rip on the e-brake and slam into things. When they do they cover up all the damage and then try to sell it, frame is usually bent a bit and everything is just destroyed. GL

Seems to be the case with this exactly lol :( The girlfriend is getting it towed home as we speak...

She just really likes the car and I was hoping to at least make it run properly without mass repairs like this lol. Just seems the way things keep braking all on the passenger side front that there is some kinda damage I can't see that is making it keep breaking like this.. After I redid the axels it broke similar to this when we were driving down the road we went around a corner at like 5 mph and the bolt on the lower control arm ripped off and like sheard the one side of the bolt off. So I replaced the lower c.a. and this time like a month later the same side same c.a. rips the damn ball clean out of the control arm.... :wallbash:

lol that's what happens when some one runs over your RF or LF tire lol, upper and lower ball joints don't like it

also, pounding it into a rut for 25+ laps at 80+ dosent help, that's why we inspect ours every week and rebuild them every 3 races and replace them after 9
