Not sure if this is the right section, but only other options were general chat or car audio so figured this would be closer...

I recently had my hybrid totaled when some asshole decided to run a stop sign and T-bone me. Getting the check soon, can't really afford another car payment and don't really wanna buy a 10+ year old Prius/Insight with 175k+ miles on it, so I decided with what I have (~$4,000) a Geo Metro would be my best bet for gas mileage (Need a car that gets 40+ MPG city, I drive around 1k miles a week all city).

If there are any Geo Metro owners out there, how hard is it to find parts when you need a repair? And are there any big problems with owning this car? Thanks in advance :)

parts are easy to find and VERY cheap. not to mention, they are possibly the easiest car out there to work on.

biggest problems these have is the complete lack of power. if you are driving that many miles a week, buy a civic or similar econobox. you'll kill yourself putting that many miles on a geo a week.
