1 1/16ths
Woop i though u said socket
1 1/16 should do it
just a tip just after you break the nut loose and I mean exactly at that point , find a way to mark and count the turns until the nut comes off, you will need to re-tighten it exactly the same amount of turns, at that point stake the nut to hold in place, do not attempt to re torque cause you could crush the crush ring and loose the pinion too ring gear clearance
Anyways hope this helps

Welcome to FTE
Two different pinion seals were used on 1962/87 F100/150's*
1962/1971 BEFORE serial number K90,001 = C2AZ-4676-B
1971 AFTER serial number K90,001 (and thru 1987) = E2TZ-4676-A (replaced p/n D1UZ-4676-A).
E2TZ-4676-A is still available from Ford / Suggested Retail Price: $18.98
*EDIT: C2AZ-4676-B WAS REPLACED BY FORD IN OCTOBER 1972 WITH THE LATER SEAL.
THE LATER SEAL WILL WORK....EVEN THO IT LOOKS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT, IT'S THE SAME DIMENSIONS WHERE IT COUNTS: 1 13/16" I.D.
FTE sponsor GREEN SALES has 2 of the original pinion seals NOS = new, old stock (C2AZ-4676-B) = 800-543-4959
