For me these are from experience/working on/owning em.
1. 300 i6 ford
2. pretty much any d-series motor from honda
3. old 2.5 iron duke


any others im missing?

Easily 3800 series 2 . This engine is a freaking tank.
Then I would probably say an old Chevy 350

i think the iron duke 2.5 4 cyl is in the same family as the 3800. the iron duke is also known as a 2500.

It would be hard to list 3 but my top 5 have already been mentioned.

if by DD engine you mean the maintenance schedule is followed correctly I would venture to say a 12 valve p-pump cummins would outlast nearly everything.

A gen 1 SBC, 3800 series II, 300 I6, and 4.0 jeep I6 are all tied for my "don't do anything but add oil when necessary and still crack 300k mi" award.

If I had to go with one brand for most reliable.

I think it's hand down Toyota.

Volvo close second.

Lucky for me I have a 3800series 2 and a jeep inline 4.0 got me two good engines
