I was looking at playing with a few motors on a stand but i wasnt sure if i needed the computer system if it has fuel injectors and all that other fun stuff. If not ill just get a carb injected motor and play with that.
Ik that ill need a battery but what else would be necissary for the motor to run. just looking to tinker with some motors to see if i can get something bigger in my 4 banger ranger lol

a ford motor is your best bet you could get a carb'd 302 which would be the easiest to run on the stand. but yes with a fuel injected motor you will need all engine related wiring and computer(s)

you don't technically need a radiator to run it on the stand but you won't want to run it for very long at all without one so....

Radiator + fan is important.

Carbd engines are like 3 wires to run so it's very easy.

a 4.0 ford v6 swap is common in that truck though I think so you might want to look there first

I don't want to do something common. But thanks for the input. I might just put a turbo on here with stronger parts ex steel forged piston

or you could get something that would put a turbo to better use than a ranger. i realize you already have the ranger but thats just gonna be wasting time and money

this is what wants me to put a turbo on my motor lol
ya but its going to hopefully be something that will impress. im not talking like a $2000 turbo maybe just a cheap $600 turbo. i dont see it as wasting time or money seeing as its for my enjoyment not for compittion.
gotta work with the money i can get and right now bein in college doesnt help lol.
now ik if i get a turbo im going to need parts that are more reliable than a cast iron piston lol.
