happened today at the road job at eastgate mall by cincinnati. a coworker was unloading into the spreader truck and the vent evidently was clogged up causing it to keep building air pressure in the spreader truck. this is what happens when you get too much pressure. it blew the bolts holding the tank together completely apart. they literally were broken into 2 pieces. the biggest blow was in the front where it separated about a foot to foot and a half. it blew the back glass out of the truck and dumped lime all over the ground. it was scary as fuck we all about shit ourselves.

and in the last picture the top half you can see where it actually bent the metal outwards.

Shit like that is why our plant doesn't let truck drivers load and unload their own trucks. Its so easy to forget a step and fuck up. That leaves so much liability... Dude is lucky.

it wasnt our drivers fault. the spreader truck operator didnt make sure his truck was venting the air pressure back out. they started cleaning out the dust collectors after ever fill after this happened. and we dont let other people touch our trailers i dont know if you know what the hell you are doing with my trailer lol.

My point was that it could happen to anyone. We can't accept the liability of letting a non employee touch anything. If one of our guys fucks up it is operator error. If a driver fucks up its a big lawsuit.

You wouldnt want to haul any of the shit we make or use much less load or unload it. I promise.

Our dry bulk is ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate. One will corrode anything but stainless in a matter of hours and one is an extreme oxidizer. We also load nylon chip in bulk trailers ehich isn't so bad. Everything else is liquid.
