If you are a reader of drag racing stuff around the internet, you’ve most likely seen Rob Kozak’s byline. He writes for a couple different publications and is a scribe we always pay attention to. Like us, Rob is a hands on dude and he’s involved with a group of racers who run supercharged combos in the greater Buffalo, NY area. The car he’s with is an altered powered by a blown, alky burning small block Chevy. We love cars like the one Rob wrenches on because they’re fast, make all the right noises, and can still be considered fairly “budget minded”. That is a relative term of course, but basically a group of guys can get together, throw in, and have a blast going really damned fast. They put on one heck of a show as well.

Anyway, about that small block Chevy. In the photos below, which Rob sent us after we ran the story about Dale Brand blowing the bottom almost all the way out of a Chrysler 440, you’ll see an engine that is absolutely, 100% completely destroyed..with a twist. While the block is obviously suited for paperweight duty only, the entire rotating assembly was fine. That’s right, Rob told us when he sent the photos that the crank, rods, and pistons were all A-OK and reusable. From the photo showing the lifter valley, the lifters look undisturbed, so that means the cam could have come out of this OK as well. Totally insane, especially when you see what the thing looked like from an overall perspective.

So…is this the most killed engine you have ever seen? Got anything to top this one? The 440 from last week looks like weak sauce now!

this part amazes me, but I don't think I would do anything but build a junker motor with the parts

Yea... I'll stick to diesel. Do NOT need to get my hands on that shit. Apparently alky gets expensive in a hurry
