Probably mentioned this problem previously, but new topic.

Have a 2000 AT accord 145k Pretty nice condition that the tranny is shot on. A rebuild is to costly. So i'm stuck with either selling as is (would be insanely hard to sell Imo. If you think I can get at least a certain amount, lmk)
or
Buy a used one for 1100-1400 + 600 labor.

Only reason I haven't already done something is all i've ever heard about these year transmissions is they're garbage. So I don't know if it's worth the risk to put in a used one and have to deal with problems.
Also I don't know if I should just try to find a local one, or if this site is trusted and i'll have better luck with them.

Kinda just stuck with what the best option would be so any insight would be helpful.

for what ever reason even though they're shit. these years transmissions are 800+. 1200 average. and yes I could probably change it out myself and if it comes to it, I might have to with help of a someone with a little more experience. but since they're known to be shit, I;m having a hard time deciding if a used tranny would be worth it, Otherwise I have the option for a remanufactured one for 2200 after 1000 core charge.

how much does a 2000 at accord with 145k miles cost without a broken tranny in your area cost? in decent shape or roughly like yours that you can find in your area

1800 for the tranny and labour already, deduct that from the value of other accords in your area and try to weigh out your options there.

Example if an accord like yours (without a broken tranny) cost let's just say $1000, then the job isn't worth it, because it's worth more than the car itself at that point.

Best thing is to shop around for shops and get quotes for a job like yours, like what TSL said it's a honda

Just get rid of the accord and use the money to pick up something else.

Search local. No way ID ever pay that price for a god damn f series tranny or j series if its a v6.
