my bike dies when i down shift from a high gear and have the clutch pulled in and let the bike roll (like when riding down hills)
im still fairly new to riding so im questioning its either my bike thats faulty or my riding skill thats causing the engine to die
might be because its cold but i always make sure to warm the bike up before riding...

it shouldn't stall with the clutch pushed in, not matter if you down shift up shift throw it in reverse or neutral shouldn't stall from shifting until you release the clutch

sounds like fuel or spark issue

2 stroke or 4 stroke? Still makes good power and runs smooth? Idle and air screws is where I would start. 2 or 4 stroke will make a difference. If it is a streetbike that is a whole different set of problems.

my xr250r had a similar problem. With fuel below half way it would die when accelerating/down shifting. I just cleaned the carb/pet cock and it went away.

yeah idle screw might need some adjusting.

shouldnt stall when clutch pulled in no matter what.

will it stall just running in neutral ?

idle is fine and its only while the bike is rolling with the clutch pulled in

Every engine needs Fuel, Oxygen, and spark to run. FULLY check all 3, and replace anything that MIGHT be an issue ( bring a friend that knows a thing or two about cars/bikes )

Your bike have a fuel filter? Check it.
Take the carb off again and look it over, clean the shit out of it. Did you actually clean it or just look at/down it and say thats OK ?
Replace the plug regardless, if you havent since you bought it, or you cant remember the last time it was replaced.

if you do all of this, and the problem is still there, you might have an issue worth getting it checked out, maybe thats why the previous owner sold the bike?

/Because clearly this is a safety issue, so you can check all the small stuff first, or you can pay a guy at a shop $200 to do it to find out a fuel filter was plugged, or carb jets are plugged.
