I'm kind of interested in knowing what other petrol heads think about electric cars

I personally like them.

I'm all for them I just understand why they need to make them ugly as fuck. Aside from the tesla they are all pretty ugly. And at least the Tesla can do a 4.X second 60

yup this is what I was going to say too, I feel like they make them all so horrible looking aside from Tesla.. shit even the Tesla Roadster is ugly. But the Tesla Model S is  and the Fisker Karma is OKAYYY looking, it looks too much like a cat fish

what makes the impractical? they get ~200 miles per charge, and if you leave it charging overnight then you're all good. Consumers on average commute ~40-60 miles a day

my friend and I were having this discussion, and we came to the conclusion that it would be nice if all daily drivers/four door family cars/mini vans/etc. became electric, which then would leave the super cars/exotics/sports cars/faster cars to the fuel.
like how awkward would it be seeing Lamborghini going from the 6 liter V12 monsters to electric? that would be a horrible nightmare...

ya...and if you forget to do that and end up needing electricity...you get to sleep in a hotel that night.

until charging becomes faster, batteries become less expensive, mileage improves per charge, overall prices drop...they are impractical especially for the money they cost.

Definitely good points, but I think we're still very early into the whole generation of electric cars and I think those are something that will hopefully be re-invented within the next 3 years. but yeah I feel like batteries as a whole could use some engineering... like smartphones need much better battery life imo... and I heard electric cars batteries need to be replaced every year and they are about $4000???? this true?
