Whats a good brand stroker kit with crank. Scat?
Scats or eagles aren't bad for lower budget stuff... I can't remember which but I had an issue with a scat or eagle crank... Went to drop it in and it hit the small hump on the inside of the oil pan casting. Only had an issue once and I have built hundreds of engines with them. About 2 bolt mains... I have yet to see a broken main cap and I build a lot of oval track and drag motors. I have an .100 over stroked 350 with a .702/.710 lift cam with 14:1 compression and it's a 2 bolt main. I try to blow that fucker up and it won't pop
Machining wise you could technically do it yourself it's not a big deal. I have templates made for every block for stroker kits. I just bolt in the template with the main cap and score it out and just grind it. As i said before once I had an issue with the crank hitting elsewhere but only happened once because it looked like they missed a step in machining the crank itself. It normally only consists of grinding the bottom on the cylinders and boring/ hoaning it after to get rid of any edges that may score the piston. a 383 is a .030 anyway.
