Putting a 4l80e in a 94 f body. I think someone said it will need its own computer to run it. Can someone link me to a few things to read when I get home about that issue .or give me any info on it. The lq4 is know for eating 4l60s up and I want to have overdrive for sure on the car to drive it to the track ans then back home again.

Just get a manual valvebody unless you are dead set on electronic shifting. It is a lot cheaper and they usually shift a little firmer. Other than that the crossmember is different and so is the converter. You will want to go to a short tunnel mount torque arm or one of the fancy crossmember mount ones. That deprnds on your rear end choice though.

Call jake's. They are known for straight shooting no nonsense customer service and good prices. They know their 4l80's. They can talk you Through everything. Just keep in mind a stock one will hold 650-700whp without needing to be built.

That sounds good to me if the stock one will bold the hp I'm going for. But is that at the flywheel or the the tires ?? If I'm at 650 to the tires that's got to be 725 + at the crank

You will be right at the limit. Turbo cars are easier on them than nitrous.

If he stays under 700whp it shouldn't be a concern. Over 700 and its build time. There are thousands of those things clicking off 10's with nothing but a shift kit. For 1000whp or more you need all of the fancy billet parts.
