so getting truck fixed after sitting for a while.
battery was completely dead and i tried to jump it to no avail. the starter would click but i guess it just never got enough juice to turn on.
anyways is there any chance i fried the starter doing this? not car savvy and its what im being told by the mechanic along with "other electrical parts"
on a 92 f150. never heard of jumping a car frying a starter -_-

ive jumped it a few times within the past 6 months to randomly haul things and it fired up after just a couple mins.

Hook a big diesel up to it, will fire if alt/starter is ok
Or get new battery imo , even pull one out of another vehicle for temp

/easiest steps first
Boost it with real power
Check grounds ( battery/starter etc )
Starter
And so forth, if it ran before fine its gunna be one of those 9/10

Tranny not a startin issue

Also you can typically get a few more runs out of a vehile by giving the alinator a wack, and tapping the starter when turning over.

Sure its possible
Its old, worn wirea, bad grounds etc

What did u try ans boost it with?? Did u give it 5-10 min before turning over?

Just trouble shoot

Boost with power ( ive seen trucks fail, hook a skidder up ans bitch fired right up )
Hit starter
Swap batteries
Check grounds to starter/alt/battery

If it still dont run, come back or have a friend come look at it :)

what i did -
took battery out planned to just get a new one, decided just to jump it again i just needed it for the day.
put back in, took 200x acura tl
put on clamps, start acura, ran for prob 5 minutes. went to start only a click but dash lights and door ajar sound came on so i assume it was giving it some power o.O
i wasnt sure if it would sitting that long completely dead.
charged for another 5 ish minutes maybe longer and it would just click
and said fuck it.

and now id like to get it running well which means fixing the trans and a few minor problems.

really need to learn basic car shit -_-

That battery is probably toast, make sure the cells are full of water (distilled) or it won't hold a charge any way

More then likely u just need a new battery.

You can pop one out of another car and try that, if that dissent work move on from there

Also I think I remember you saying that truck had an e4od, if it needs rebuilt it's gunna run u arround 1800-2500 depending on what internals you put back in it.

Might be worth looking for a bronco/f150 with a blown motor that had a recent tranny rebuild and buy it as a parts truck and scrap what u don't use

If u need any help for ford gas f150 f250 f350 or bronco from 1978-1996 I'm ur guy feel free to pm me
