I'm not a car guy which is why I'd like to ask just for a general lay-persons definition of a trucks fuel rail

What are they usually made of etc
What holds them in place
Where are they/it located?

I've got Wikipedia already but article is pretty short and uses some other parts I'm not familiar with to explain it:(

Donates for a good response

Thanks !

Fuel rails are usually aluminum.

Places like JEGS, SUMMIT, and ROCK auto all sell what is called: fuel rail stock.

So you can make your own fairly easily. You just need to know your injector spacing, and order the appropriate diameter rail stock.

They usually mount either to the intake manifold, the head of the motor, or some combination of both.

Things you will need to know if you want to make your own fuel rail:

-What diameter stock you will need
-Injector spacing
-Type of injectors (Barbed, or O-Ring) - and the subsequent fittings correlating to your specifics

and if you are just trying to find the fuel rail, it may be covered, if the vehicle is modern. That said, locate your fuel filter, and or ANY fuel lines. They will say "fuel injection hose" on them. Follow any of those hoses, and they will lead you where you need to be.

EDIT: Here is a picture of the fuel rail on my car. I am using barbed fittings that correlate to my injector type. Mounted to the top of my intake manifold, via the L shaped brackets attached to the rail
