In the process of buying a used car. Does anyone have access to unlimited carfaxs here?

Ask the seller for it. Also, if there's a small local used car dealer, you might consider asking them. Sometimes the local guys are willing to be helpful around here.

Its someone from craigslist. Already agreed to a price and just wanted to verify everything they were saying is true.

Just used a free carfax site and it seemed pretty legit.

Carfax only uses reported problems, such as from a mechanic and such, so it's not always 100% reliable

I thought it was ony from accidents reported to insurance...

it'll do recalls, insurance accidents, emission tests, and I believe any service from a dealer.

I saw a 20/20 a few weeks ago talking about how shit carfax is.

Reminded me of a friend who bought a car from enterprise with a clean carfax.
When he went to sell it, the carfax had 2 accidents AFTER his purchase 3 states away.

car fax does take i want to say 2-4 months to reflect things, their are a lot of dealers that sell cars with minor damage and fix them and flip them before that shows.

man if this is true that is complete BS.
(by if this is true I mean I'm sure it takes some time to reflect but if it takes really THAT long)
