I've done some research, and searched around my area for car listings. I was searching for a supra or skyline or rx-7 that would be fun to tune up, but i wanted to start from essentially scratch.
This is my first vehicle outside of a daily drive(have a sunfire currently :P). I've located a 91 skyline r32 gtr. Body is a 9/10 condition, he's selling in the condition of "it rolls", since it is missing an engine.
I've also located an rb26dett ripped out of a crashed skyline and shipped over from japan to a seller around here. Its listed as low km(between 15k and 20k).
Comes with tranny turbos, pretty much everything for a full engine swap.
Anyways, between my fathers know-how, and a few buddies who work at a garage I'm pretty sure I can take on this project but i'm doing research before i actually invest any money.
My main question is, what mods and upgrades should i do to the engine before i drop it into the car.
I've been reading about forged pistons/crankshafts and that like. I'm not sure i wanna undergo that(people are talking about precision measurements and making sure everythign is perfect).
My dads rebuilt engines before, as have the buddies in the garage.
tl;dr: What engine/tranny mods should i perform on an rb26dett prior to dropping it into an r32 gtr.
Also if anyone could help sourcing the suggested parts and pricing that'd be great.

Car would be for driving on nice days/track. Not really a daily driver or anything of that sort. will keep my sunfire for that for now
